This upcoming week is Conference Week, which means it is Book Fair time again! Yea! We'll be hosting the Book Fair in the Library, so come on by next week to enjoy the fine offerings from Scholastic with the "Read Around the World" theme, plus much more. Our wonderful PTSA runs this event for our school and will be operating the fair, with volunteer help, Monday- Friday. The hours are Monday- Friday 7:45- 8:15 am & Monday-Thursday 11:45 am- 3 pm. There will also be a PJ Storytime on Wednesday, October 21st, from 6-7 pm. Clifford will be in attendance, just as he was on opening day! We love our PTSA volunteers and appreciate that they help us to buy books for the library with this Book Fair. :)
In other news, this week we explored Fairy Tales in 1st grade again, delving deeper into the elements of fairy tales and we learned that all of the Fairy Tales in the library live in the same section- the 398.2's! Here are some students checking out the Fairy Tales... I've posted no faces to protect the privacy of our students.
Here we have some concealed Kinders acting out one of the Nursery Rhymes we have been studying, "I'm a Little Teapot." Can you spot those handles and spouts? :) We spent some time coloring the rhyming words red in the little books we took home featuring this rhyme. We also began talking about proper book care this week and will begin checking out with our Kindergarten classes very soon!
And, as promised, here is me in all my royal regalia for the launch of the fairy tale unit! It is good to be queen. The queen says, "Don't forget to join us in the library for the Book Fair! Your purchases help buy books for the library!"
